“This Seed To Praise Thee Shall Not Cease” – Lara Candland (with Brian Kubarycz)

theogeny

theory is grief—
and practice is smothering—
leave off mourning
for such daylight
as lifts and fans
fire from your willow
branch of body
quenched in spring tears—
tears the lord
cried out your ducts
for his secret purpose
of your instruction—
that your will will stretch
forth arms—
trembling
dangerous with flame hair—
antediluvian
tinderwood
under ten thousand stars—
ten thousand eyes—
ten thousand wingbeats—
belfry of the lord
embattled—
now know this:
despite all
you do
god has all
already happened.

  1. ten thousand wingbeats—
    belfry of the lord
    embattled—

Great stuff, you two, in a great journal.

  2. I’ve read this over and over. Now I’m off to sleep with a beautiful mantra–
    all already
    all already
    all already.
    Thank you.
