Unsaid Six: Recipients of the Ivory-Billed Woodpecker Award for Fiction in the Face of Adversity Announced!

The Ivory-Billed Woodpecker Award for Fiction in the Face of Adversity is given annually by Unsaid to writers who have chosen to live by an unshakable code of unprecedented difference. It is the adherence to this code—burnished by a stubborn indifference to topical distractions—that places these writers among the most exciting artists of our time—of any time. The 2012 recipients of the Ivory-Billed Woodpecker Award for Fiction in the Face of Adversity are Katherine Manderfield, Amin Erfani, Brian Kubarycz, Jason Schwartz, and Vanessa Place. A special mention of this award is presented in memory of Edouard Leve, and to Lorin Stein, who translated Leve’s pages in this volume.
